SUNSPOT™
Model in profile wearing black square sunglasses

Studio, est. 2019

We build frames. We don't decorate them.

Our approach

The lens comes first. Everything else follows it.

Most eyewear briefs start with a silhouette. Ours start with the lens — the tint, the curvature, the category of UV protection — and the frame gets built to hold it properly. It's a slower way to design a pair of sunglasses, and it's the only one we've found that lasts.

Materials

Three things we don't compromise on

Acetate, not injection plastic

Plant-based cellulose acetate, hand-cut and polished. It costs more and photographs warmer.

Category-rated lenses

Every lens is UV400 rated and tested outdoors, not just under a studio light.

Hardware that outlasts the frame

Spring hinges and gold-tone plating that's torque-tested past the return window.

Portrait of a Sunspot studio member

“We're a nine-person studio. Every frame that ships has been tried on by someone in this building, usually more than once.”

— Sunspot Studio, Founding Team

01

Built, not trend-chased

We run six or seven shapes a season, not sixty. Every one earns its place.

02

Priced for what it costs

No inflated MSRP to discount later. The sticker price is the real price.

03

Repairable, not disposable

Loose hinge, scratched lens — we fix it. Most requests get turned around in a week.
