Care Guide: Keeping Acetate Looking New
Five minutes of maintenance a month buys you a frame that outlasts the trend it was bought for.
Acetate is a natural, plant-based plastic, which is why it feels warmer than the injection-molded stuff — and why it needs slightly more care. Nothing complicated, just consistent.
Rinse with lukewarm water before wiping — dry-wiping grinds any grit straight into the coating. Store them in the case, lenses up, hinges relaxed. And keep them off the dashboard; heat is the one thing acetate never forgives.
