A Short History of the Cat-Eye

Sixty years after the drive-in, the sharpest shape in eyewear is still the one that arches.

The cat-eye shape peaked in 1958 and, by most accounts, should have died with the decade. It didn't — it just went quiet for forty years and came back sharper.

“A cat-eye frame doesn't flatter a face so much as it argues with it, and usually wins.”

Our take keeps the arch but drops the sharp point — Spritz and Powder are both built on the same rounded cat-eye block, just in different acetate. It's a shape that rewards restraint.
